Megapixel network camera

1 January 2014 Surveillance, Products & Solutions

The DS-2CD2012-I bullet camera falls under Hikvision’s 2-line IP camera range. This range of cameras is designed for SMB applications. Competitors that fall in this price range cannot compete with the specifications of the DS-2CD2012-I 1,3 MP network bullet camera.

Some of the features include HD resolution, which offers improved sharpness, clarity and larger field of view under all light conditions. The 1/3-inch Progressive Scan CMOS imaging device offers a maximum image resolution of 1280 x 960, a 16:9 HD resolution of 1280 x 720 is also supported.

Digital Wide Dynamic Range (DWDR) is incorporated to help capture clear images in strongly lit and contrasting environments, without compromising image quality or colour accuracy. High performance IR LEDs offer outstanding night-time monitoring with long range visibility up to 30 metres. Crystal clear and crisp black and white images during night time, is due to the camera being a true day/night camera.

The compact design makes it easy to install and is aesthetically pleasing for all environments. The cable managed bracket brings more flexibility and security during the installation process. One can install this camera in any environment seeing that this camera has a true IP66 rating. In Africa, cameras need to be able to handle extreme temperature environments. This is achieved by the wide operating temperature of the camera, from -30°C to +60°C.

To make life easier for the installer the camera can be powered either with 12 VDC or with PoE 802.3af.
